Hawkins Steel Ltd were awarded the contract to design and build a new 1500m² mezzanine floor as part of a major refurbishment of an existing industrial unit.
The mezzanine design brief had to meet strict vibration-reducing criteria due to the sensitivity of the equipment being placed upon it. The main structure was a 66 tonne structural steel hot rolled frame, with a Tata Comflor 80 structural deck, stud welded to the frame.
Once the deck was in place, 13 tonnes of reinforcement mesh was laid and then a 175mm deep C30 concrete power floated floor was poured.
Working closely with Total Projects our team ensured the project was delivered on time and to the high standard expected from Hawkins Steel.
