Working alongside a Nationwide Solar Panel provider, Hawkins Steel Ltd were awarded the contract to design, supply and install a steel canopy onto of the newly built Victoria Gate Multi-storey car park in Leeds city centre.
Working very closely with the car park centre management team, the steel deliveries were made through the car park during out of hours and quieter periods of usage, so as not to impact the day to day operation of the car park. The steel was erected using a light weight spider crane.
The new steel frame had to extend off the existing steel structure, covering an area of 30 meters x 16 meters. The steel work had a galvanised and white painted finish to replicate the existing steel work. We then fitted new cold rolled purlins and 1000/32 single skin profile roof sheet.
The roof will then be used to support new PV solar panel system fitted by our client.
