Hawkins Roofing Ltd were awarded the contract to overclad two asbestos roofs as part of a refurbishment project on a busy industrial park in Abingdon. The total roof area for both units was 2,175sqm.
The project consisted of the installation of safety and debris netting to the underside of the roof surface and safety scaffold edge protection to provide safety for the team undertaking the works.
A new AshGrid bracketry system was fixed through the existing roof, additional insulation was then installed to the surface of the existing roof and finally, new TATA 32/1000 profile roof sheeting was installed with an HPS Ultra finish, which carries a 40 year Confidex™ warranty.
In addition to this, Hawkins Roofing overlaid the flat roofs above the offices of the two units, supplying and installing a Paraflex Waterproofing System from Moy Materials, which incorporated new insulation to provide improved thermal properties.
