Hawkins Projects Ltd were awarded the contract by K W Special Projects Limited a high performance engineering business who were appointed by sports aerodynamic specialists Sports Aero Solutions Limited to deliver the entire Wind Tunnel Project. Hawkins Projects were responsible for the design, manufacture and installation of the cycling specific wind tunnel test structure based in Evesham, Worcestershire.
Differing from existing wind tunnel facilities used for aero space and automotive development, this facility is the first of its kind in Europe used for the measurement of dynamic drag for non-motorised sports applications.
The wind tunnel itself was fabricated in our steel workshop before being dismantled and delivered to site to be installed along with a prep room and control room to form part of the overall facility.
