The Hawkins Group are passionate about supporting local causes and giving back to the local community. We regularly contribute to fundraising, sponsorship, and local community causes.

We are proud to sponsor several local sports teams – football, rugby, cricket, bowls, table tennis, golf. Sports clubs play a vital role in our community providing a fun and inclusive environment to bring children and adults together no matter their age, gender, physical condition, religion or ethnic origin. We are the main sponsors of Easington Sports Football Club and are proud that our contribution helps to provide equipment for players, enabling them to succeed and progress further. For another consecutive year, we are sponsoring the men’s 1st team, the ladies team and the Phoenix pan-disability team. As well as sponsoring the club and teams we are also able to use our services to help them improve and maintain their football ground.

In May 2022, the Hawkins team raised just shy of £10,000 for a local charity, Katharine House Hospice. The team took part in the Banbury Triathlon to raise awareness and funds for the hospice. As the Hawkins team do every day, they took the challenge in their stride and gave it their all.

After hearing about Style Acre, a local charity that aims to provide young adults with learning difficulties and autism the chance to lead a meaningful life and reach their full potential, we decided to offer two of their young adults employment at our head offices. Glenn and Ollie work with us two days a week gaining work experience in all aspects of Hawkins, from admin in the offices to hands-on work in our steel fabrication workshop. We aim to provide Glenn and Ollie with the tools they need to reach their full potential and are delighted to have them as part of our team. We recently celebrated their 7th anniversary working for the Hawkins Group.

When the Banbury Phone Box Library was at risk of being demolished Hawkins stepped in. A local resident converted the phone box but it was deemed a health and safety risk. Hawkins liaised with BT to buya new phone box, fitted it with steel shelving and installed it next to the old phone box. The unique mini-library is perfect for the public to borrow, share and enjoy books.

Another inspiring project we supported was the ‘Brick Wonders’ Exhibition at Banbury Museum. The exhibition held over 50 models featuring sights from around the world built out of LEGO® bricks. The exhibition included the 7 Wonders of the World and many famous global landmarks. Sponsoring the ‘Brick Wonders’ exhibition was an excellent opportunity to raise awareness of the museum and the fantastic services it has to offer. Alongside the exhibition, we also ran a competition providing 11 local schools each with a LEGO® kit and asked them to build a ‘Banbury Landmark of the Future’.

From holding regular bake sales and donating raffle prizes, to responding to specific requests, we are always keen to help. Frank Wise School in Banbury were in need of a defibrillator so that there was always one on site. It was a pleasure to be able to provide this for them, knowing they had peace of mind that this life-saving piece of equipment was available should it ever be needed. We are also very proud to supply and deliver a Christmas tree every year to our local Horton General Hospital.

We love to support events and contribute locally whenever we can. As a family-run business, our local community is very important to us.
